Lourdes Boys Basketball Coaches Needed

We are in need of both a boys JV and Varsity basketball coaches for this winter’s season (2009-2010). If you are interested in coaching or helping coach a team, please send me an email detailing your previous playing and coaching experience. The varsity basketball season runs from tryouts at the end of October through the 3rd week in February. The varsity coach is expected to lead the team in the season-ending Shamrock tournament in Charlotte (Feb 19-21) . The JV basketball season is shorter and runs through the first week in February. We are looking for coaches who will have the time and dedication to spend teaching and coaching these teams. Coaches will need to pass the diocesean background check as well as take the safe environment training course.

Next OLL Cheerleading Open Gym Session August 6th

For OLL middle-schoolers interested in cheerleading, there will be one more “cheer open gym” session on August 6th from 10am to noon in the Lourdes gym. Anyone interested can reach Coach Lesley Klein at home (462-7067) or email at claaaklein@aol.com.

Lourdes Cross Country Team

I’m happy to announce that Lourdes will be fielding a boys and girls cross country team this fall. I was able to schedule some meets with other schools and will be posting the schedule soon. This team will be open to any middle schoolers (6th, 7th & 8th) who want to participate. Maggie Rougier-Chapman will be coaching the team. Maggie is a current Lourdes parent, competitive triathlon athlete and former cross country runner. We are very fortunate to have her coaching this team. If you are interested in participating and haven’t emailed me yet, please do so. I will forward it to Maggie to add to her distribution list. The first practice will be on Monday, August 17th at 6pm.  Feel free to email me if you have any questions or need further information regarding the program.

Boys Soccer Open Field Location Change – old Cardinal Gibbons

Due to the Lourdes field being temporarily closed, the boys soccer open fields will take place at the old Cardinal Gibbons (2401 Crusader Drive, Raleigh NC 27606). The first open field will be Wednesday July 22nd and go for the following three Wednesday evenings (7/29, 8/5, 8/12). The time is 6-7:30pm.

Updated physcials and athletic participation forms are required to participate.
